Donations

Raising funds is the main goal of the Humanitarian Adventures. It is through the donations that we turn dreams into reality. We build houses and schools. We feed entire families and homeless people. We provide scholarships and purchase school supplies.

The greatest pride of this mission is knowing that 100% of donations are applied directly to the projects. Everything is reported through social media with official documents, testimonies, invoices and photographs. This way, donors know exactly where their help is going. Truth and transparency are the foundations that support the concept of Humanitarian Adventures.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Humanitarian Adventures?

This was a term coined by me, Pedro Queirós, to designate the instrument I use to collect funds to support social causes.

As the name suggests, I propose to go on adventures around the world and, at the same time, raise money to help those in need.

I seek to develop the theme of Humanitarian Adventures around travelling, sports, culture, overcoming, equipment, nutrition, physical and mental effort.

Communication is done through Social Media and also in conferences at schools and companies. Frequently, there are also news in other media such as TV, Newspapers and radio.

The daily dissemination, promotion and reporting of the initiatives are crucial aspects throughout the process.

Initially, the funds raised were directed exclusively to the project Dreams of Kathmandu, a mission I started after the Nepal earthquake in 2015. But over the years, I also started helping other realities, such as Comunidade Vida e Paz in Portugal and some families in Kenya.

Humanitarian Adventures are for everyone, they belong to all of us. In recent years, many people have, on their own initiative, decided to break their limits and raise donations to help others.

Is there any Association, Foundation or NGO behind the promoter Pedro Queirós?

No.

The Humanitarian Adventures and the project Dreams of Kathmandu are vehicles of a personal nature. They do not have regulations, statutes, general assembly or fiscal council.

The solidarity initiatives are carried out by people who want to help other people. Freely and without corporate ties.

The values that govern the context of action are:

  • Transparency towards donors;
  • Respect for the culture of the impacted communities;
  • Honesty throughout the process of raising and applying resources;
  • Courage to make a difference.

However, we work with several institutional partners who are registered organizations in their respective countries. These are the cases of the Fundação Vox Populi and Comunidade Vida e Paz in Portugal. Or the Dwarikas Foundation, Rainbow Volunteer Club and Sharadas Shelter for Children in Nepal.

Is there any political, religious, ideological or club organization behind the promoter Pedro Queirós?

No.

I am not affiliated with any political party, religion, sports, academic or professional organization.

I do not represent any brand. I have no sponsorships or sponsors.

I am not an influencer for any organization and have never received income related to promoting products or services online.

I represent truth, equality, justice and peace.

How are funds raised?

Funds are collected through various platforms, mainly bank transfers, MBway, Revolut, Wise, PayPal and GoFundMe. The links and data from these platforms are announced on my Social Media pages, and also on this website www.pedroqueiros.com.

The only person with access to the funds is me, Pedro Queirós.

To manage all donations, I use an account created at Banco Millennium BCP in Portugal, with the specific purpose of managing the fundraising processes. This account has already undergone regular checks and audits by the Bank's compliance department.

The decision not to have a corporate structure behind Humanitarian Adventures allows me to save on bureaucracy and apply 100% of the donations on the projects.

Occasionally, I also raise funds through book sales, sales of merchaidising or spontaneous donations. Whenever this happens, the vehicles used for collection are the same as those mentioned above.

Where and how are the funds applied?

100% of the funds raised through Humanitarian Adventures, book sales or occasional donations are applied to projects that I know in detail.

All personal expenses, whether for food, accommodation, travel, medical treatments, communication, among others, are fully paid by me. In other words, all work is carried out voluntarily.

The focus of humanitarian aid is on housing, health, nutrition and education.

As already mentioned, the bulk of the aid has been spent in Nepal. However, I have already contributed to other solidarity initiatives in countries such as Portugal and Kenya.

When applying funds, there are two possible methods:

  • In the first person. I go to stores, schools and other establishments myself, to make payments in person.
  • Transfer of amounts to partners identified on the ground who handle payments.

In any case, the application of resources is always accompanied by invoices, photographs and testimonies from beneficiaries.

How is the application of resources communicated?

The total funds raised and their subsequent application are made on my social networks, namely through Instagram and Facebook.

To get a detailed idea of how donations have been used since 2017, one can visit the website www.dreamsofkathmandu.blogspot.com. Here it is possible to analyze in detail the origin of the resources as well as their application.

Each field initiative is accompanied by a description of the problem, solution found, photographs and invoices.

At the end of each year, an Activity Report is prepared, and is also available on the previously mentioned website.

On April 25, 2015, little Simran felt the earth shake in Nepal. She saw her village being destroyed in a matter of seconds, but she never lost hope. This book is part of the National Reading Plan in Portugal, and helps young people to reflect on the themes of volunteering, solidarity and what to do in the event of an earthquake.

On January 2017, Pedro Queirós unintentionally embarked on what would be his first Humanitarian Adventure: 1200 kilometers on foot across India from the door of the Taj Mahal in Agra to the gates of Camp Hope in Kathmandu. A journey through the deepest roots of consciousness and ultimately, what defines the human being: pain, freedom and the desire to help others.

The courage to make a difference lies at the heart of being human. Portuguese Pedro Queirós and Lourenço Macedo Santos were caught up in the earthquake that destroyed Nepal on April 25, 2015, but instead of leaving the country, they decided to stay and help the people affected by the tragedy. The mission became known as Obrigado Portugal, nós também somos Nepal. The book has a foreword written by the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres.
